Cutting variable costs to focus on soil health

Hedgerow and grass margin management

Regenerative agricultural practices at Nonington Farms have started to show results as the focus moves away from high input high output and focus more on improving soil health. So much so that Farmers Weekly heard all about it, and have published an in depth article about our practices which you can read here.

Efficiency is one of the cornerstones of our business, and it is this which helps us to drive our profit-led focus, as we strive to make every area of the farm more efficient. This makes the inefficient parts ideal candidates for participation in our nature recovery efforts too, with around 20% of the farm being set aside for nature. This may be wild bird mixtures or wild flower meadows which the bees can enjoy pollinating, or advanced hedgerow management.
