Congratulations Jack!

Huge congratulations to Jack Scott for winning the BBC Countryfile Young Countryside Champion 2023 award. 

We are so pleased and proud that Jack has been rightly recognised for the growing of his vegetables sustainably, as well as working with local veg box schemes, markets and  supplying local restaurants who care about where and how their food is grown.

Jack has been growing vegetables at Nonington Farms since 2022 and it is brilliant to see his venture go from strength to strength. Jack’s passion lies in growing nature friendly vegetables regeneratively that are entirely spray free. He does this by focussing on soil health, growing cover crops within his rotation, improving soil health and working with nature to pollinate and encourage other beneficial insects. His philosophy of vegetable farming is this very aligned with ours at Nonington Farms.

Jack also takes part in our farm visit programme, teaching children and other visitors where our food comes from and the importance of the environment around us as part of the process. He is set to expand the area he farms at Nonington in the coming growing season.
